What are microgreens?
Microgreens are young vegetable greens, typically harvested just after the first true leaves appear. They're more mature than sprouts but younger than baby greens.
How should microgreens be stored?
Keep them in a sealed container in the fridge. A slightly damp grow cloth will help retain moisture. Most microgreens stay fresh for weeks if properly stored!
Do microgreens require washing before eating?
Not ours! These microgreens come fresh and ready to cosume right out of the container! Just cut, and enjoy!
What’s the difference between microgreens and baby greens?
Microgreens are harvested earlier, typically 1–3 inches tall, and include the stem and first leaves. Baby greens are harvested later, with more mature leaves and a different texture.
How nutritious are microgreens compared to full-grown vegetables?
Microgreens can have up to 40 times more nutrients than their mature counterparts!
They’re rich in vitamins like A, C, E, and K, plus antioxidants, polyphenols, and minerals like iron, magnesium, and zinc.
Which microgreens are the most nutritious?
Some of the most nutrient-dense varieties include:
Red cabbage (high in vitamin C)
Cilantro (rich in lutein and beta-carotene)
Radish (great source of vitamin E and antioxidants)
Broccoli (loaded with sulforaphane, a powerful antioxidant)
How do microgreens taste?
They vary by variety. Some are mild (like sunflower), while others are spicy (radish, arugula), tangy (mustard), or herbaceous (basil, cilantro).
Are microgreens the same as sprouts?
Nope! Sprouts are germinated seeds grown in water and harvested earlier. Microgreens are grown in soil or a growing medium and require light. They’re also more nutrient-dense and flavorful than sprouts.
How do I eat microgreens?
Add them to:
Salads
Sandwiches and wraps
Smoothies
Tacos
Garnishes for soups, eggs, and entrees
Are all microgreens organic?
It depends! We use a combonation of organic-certified & Non-GMO seeds that're grown without synthetic fertilizers or pesticides.
So if the product label says it's organic, rest assured it is!
Can microgreens help with specific health goals?
Definitely. Their high concentration of nutrients may support:
Immune health (vitamin C, zinc)
Heart health (polyphenols, potassium)
Eye health (beta-carotene, lutein)
Skin glow (vitamin E and antioxidants)
